Alison Buchan

Alison Buchan is an expert in microbes. She studies their genes and enzymes to discover which microbes can perform specific tasks within an ecosystem. Much of her work focuses on the Roseobacter clade, a type of bacteria that helps maintain balance in marine environments. She also serves as associate head of the Department of Microbiology.
